May 15, 2010 Trek (Buggy Top Trail/Sewanee Natural Bridge - Monteagle)
A group of 10 adults, kids, and families + dogs enjoyed a warm spring 4 mile roundtrip hike to the amazing geological wonder of the Buggy Top Cave and then stopped on the way out for the short talk to the Sewanee Natural Bridge.
April 17, 2010 Trek (Keown Falls, GA)
A group of about 20 individuals, kids, and families participated in this beautiful trek in North Georgia. The weather was perfect, the spring green brilliant, and the whole experience was one of the nicest treks yet (according to many participants!). Most of the group did the 6 mile round trip past Keown Falls and continuing on to the valley overlook at the turnaround point on Johns Mountain. The honeysuckle was in full bloom and the kids had fun tasting the flowers to see if there really was some sweet juice inside!
February 20, 2010 Trek (Rock Town, GA)
February Hike Report:
On February 20th Chatt Trekkers hosted a hike to Rocktown on Pigeon Mountain in Georgia. Approximately 30 miles outside the city limits lies a treasure of trails, boulder fields and a network of caves where rock climbers, hikers and spelunkers gather to enjoy what the mountain has to offer. With the weather in the 60's, Chatt Trekkers led roughly 28 trekkers including, families, kids and singles alike about a mile to the main boulder field. We gathered there to watch the numerous rock climbers and kids as they tried their hand on the smaller rocks! Round trip, the day concluded after a beginner's two mile hike. Join us next month as we take a group to Snoopers Rock on March 20.
